Description

Teach one-on-one classes online to high school students in Taiwan. You will teach students during their school hours as part of their English as a Second Language curriculum. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable teaching experience while still a student.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates are full-time TESOL minors or Secondary Education majors with good writing and grammar skills. Must have excellent communication skills to be able to teach and converse with students who may have difficulty understanding English or expressing themselves in English. Background in Mandarin is a plus, but not required.

Candidates must have access to a computer with high-speed Internet and Skype in a location where they can teach without interruption.

Description

This is primarily a teaching internship. It will include observation of a seasoned teacher, followed by team teaching, and observed teaching. The internship may also include tutoring, managing a TOEFL lab, and working in curriculum development.

Qualifications

Intern should be confident in front of a classroom, should have developed teaching skills, should have an excellent mastrey of the English language, and should be willing to accept and implement constructive criticism.

Description

Tutor a functionally illiterate adult in basic reading and writing skills. Tutors meet with a student twice a week for an hour and a half each time.

Qualifications

-Volunteers commit to give at least six months of service.

-Volunteer tutors can speak, read, and write English fluently.

-Volunteer tutors commit to twice-weekly 1.5-hour tutoring sessions.

-Volunteer tutors commit to attend a 30-minute orientation, 4-hour training session, and bi-monthly skill enhancement workshops.

Description

Student interns have several internships from which to choose. The research and development intern would be responsible for helping create new classes and revise curriculum, create training materials and possible resources for students. A language tutoring intern will provide guided conversational instruction to students or help with homework questions and general language inquiries. The activities intern might advertise out-of-school activities, form a student committee to help with activities and provide information regarding free concerts, movie nights, conversation café and can help to coordinate these activities.

Qualifications

We prefer to have TESOL or linguistic majors, but we welcome willing hands and energetic workers. Interns will be helping students inside and outside the class; students come with all language proficiencies, so we need interns with a personal knowledge and background of second language learning. A student with possible interests in language teaching.
