ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY

Turn in seven bibliographic citations from either the MLA Periodicals Index or Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts, dealing with the topic that you identified a while back.

Format the citation for each article according to the style guide for the Linguistic Society of America (see the the bibliography homework for the format).

Each article also needs to be read then annotated. An annotation consists of a summary of the article including the hypothesis tested, the methodology used, the results of the study, how the significance of those results was determined, and the relevance of the results to the issue examined. Please limit the articles to those describing empirical studies. Each annotation should be about 100-150 words.

A good place to get ideas for your bibliography and project is in the book Projects in Linguistics which is available on two hour reserve at the circulation desk of the library. Ask for call number P126 .W73 1998. Each chapter in the book has a section entitled Projects and there are 250 to choose from or modify according to your interests.
