Student Responsibilities

Mentor Teacher Responsibilities

  • Contact assigned teacher to arrange schedules before beginning to observe and teach
  • Coordinate schedule with the student
  • Notify mentor teacher of any schedule changes
  • Provide feedback to the students after the students teach
  • Be prepared to observe and teach in a professional manner
  • Give insights into teaching ESL to the student
  • Be on time to class and to schedule meetings with the mentor teacher
  • Be specific in when and what the student will teach
  • Dress appropriately when observing and teaching. (No jeans, shorts, or hats; socks should be worn; men should wear ties.)
  • Give feedback to the 672 teacher on practicum student's teaching performance
  • Meet with the assigned student for mentoring opportunities.
  • Assign a student for mentoring practice.
