Course Objectives

  1. Gain knowledge of techniques and methods used in teaching English as a second language (ESL) or English as a foreign language (EFL) reading and writing classes.
     
  2. Write and implement effective reading and writing lesson plans with appropriate activities for learners at a specific level of language proficiency.
     
  3. Become familiar with the research issues in TESOL reading/writing classrooms.
     
  4. Work closely with an ESL reading/writing class and implement ideas learned in class.
     
  5. Write a research paper on a topic of your choosing related to TESL reading and/or writing.
