One of the requirements of this course is to participate in a minimum of five sessions (during the semester) of approximately one hour each in which you observe and/or help provide reading and/or writing instruction. This instruction may be given in a class setting (at the ELC or elsewhere-after obtaining the teacher's permission and observing the class first), at a learning laboratory/center (at the ELC or elsewhere), or to individuals in a series of tutoring sessions. The Log is a written description of who the students were and what they needed to learn, as well as a collection of your lesson plans, the materials you used, an assessment of the methods and materials you used, and your reflections on what you learned from this experience.
